The term anger management refers to a system of various different psychological therapeutic techniques that someone who has anger problems can use to control or reduce the triggers that affect or aggravate their anger. There are basic anger management techniques such as deep breathing and meditation, which are both commonly used, however each persons case is different and thus their recommended form of treatment will be different as well.

The psychology of anger management is quite complex, and what is considered as being the psychology of anger management today differs quite greatly from what was a few decades ago.

In modern society, anger is an emotion which is viewed as being a response to frustration, threat or loss, and anger can also aggravate other existing health problems, especially depression.
